The Marine Works Division has developed its specialized competence in the construction of port facilities and other structures in which the foundations are under water. This technical competence is supplemented by a powerful technological department that can, amongst other things, develop specific proposals and support complicated technical construction processes professionally.
CEM—Competence in harbor construction, maritime works and structural engineering
A high-capacity deep-sea harbor for Ngqura in South Africa; the world's longest continuous quay wall for Bremerhaven; offshore facilities in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea: For demanding projects in the field of marine works, the business unit Civil Engineering and Marine Works (CEM) will be on board. As the competence center for harbor construction and marine works, CEM accomplishes successful project implementation.

CEM also is a strong partner for large-scale infrastructure projects. The suburban railway link to Hamburg Airport and the construction of Lübeck's Herren Tunnel are just two of the numerous examples that illustrate CEM's method of matching economic requirements with innovation and reliable construction processes.
