The lot A2 given to the consortium (members: Boskalis / Moortechnika and HOCHTIEF AG) is part of the 25.4 kilometers long flood protection barrier in Neva Bay to protect St. Petersburg from flood.
In addition to flood control, embankments and tunnels of the different construction lots are used as well as part of the 6-lane ring highway of St. Petersburg.
The lot A2 connects to the central flood protection barrier , which is used as a shipping channel to St.Petersburg in the meantime.
Close to this shipping line, there is the already completed part of the 6-lane highway tunnel, created by Lenmetrostroi within another project.
In our lot, at both ends of this section, another 361.5 meters tunnel and a 356 meter ramp, founded on piles, have to be build. This amounts to 45 percent of the total tunnel length.
Part of the lot A2 is also a pump station, which is included in the in the scope of HOCHTIEF’s services.
